International Course Educational Programme Production (Sep 18 - Dec 8 2006)
Start Date: September 18, 2006
Location: Hilversum, The Netherlands
Event Details: The Radio Nederland Training Centre (RNTC) is hosting this programme on developing educational content for Radio, Television and Internet. The theme of the programme is "Children and Development", and the course will focus on "creating effective educational programmes and multimedia material for, with and by children, on issues to do with children and development."

This course is premised on the idea that children can and should play a role in the decisions that affect their lives, and that broadcast media has become an increasingly important part of the lives of children.

Participants in this workshop will take part in sessions "devoted to reinforcing and developing their knowledge and skills in the field of educational programme research and production". They will also participate in field exercises throughout the Netherlands, and learn to use the "target audience approach" to define and produce appropriate material for the relevant age and demographic.

Registration Details:
Anyone working in or for the media, who can write and speak English, may apply. Preference, however, is given to applicants from developing countries, and people applying from one of these
listed countries may apply for a Netherlands Fellowship Programme (NFP) grant to cover the cost of the programme.

Deadline for RNTC applications is January 1 2006.
Deadline for NFP applications is April 1 2006.
Deadline for self-paying or sponsored applications is July 1 2006.

This Fellowship provides a select group of leaders from domestic non-profit organisations, international non-governmental organisations, foundations, government, socially responsible businesses, and other civil society groups in the United States and internationally with the opportunity to enjoy residence at the Sanford Institute for a four-week mini-sabbatical.
